Regina Webster & Associates was retained as a subconsultant to A. Epstein & Sons to perform intersection design studies at three intersections on Lake Shore Drive. The projects entailed analyzing traffic impacts resulting from removal of the at-grade signalized pedestrian crossing on Lake Shore Drive at Buckingham Fountain. The intention was to replace the pedestrian crossing with a grade-separated structure. The scope included an accident analysis as well as arterial signal coordination analyses. Impacts to pedestrian and bicycle traffic through Grant Park were studied.
